Black-shouldered Kite Australian Bird Die-cut Sticker

Black-shouldered Kites (Elanus axillaris) are majestic little raptors with captivating scarlet eyes and characteristic black ‘shoulder’ markings on the tops of their wings. Widespread across Australia (including half of Tasmania), these striking birds can often be found hovering mid-air across open, grassy fields, especially on farmland, scanning the ground for their next snack.

I am so captivated by these cuties and their hauntingly beautiful gaze (and their absolutely stunning eyeliner game, my word.) Unsurprisingly these are some of the first raptors (or ‘murder birds’ as affectionately referred to by husband and I) we see on road trips once we hit rural areas and it’s a delight every time.
